Pre-Treatment Considerations / Check List:

• Are you allergic to hydrogen peroxide?  If yes, then you cannot do the BEYOND™ WhiteSpa Select whitening treatment.  If you’re not sure, a good indication is whether you have had a bad reaction to hair dyes in the past.
• If it has been more than 12 months since your last visit to the dentist, then it is advisable to go to the dentist prior to treatment for a check-up and clean before proceeding.
• Crowns, caps and other composite fillings will not whiten with the treatment.  It is best to whiten your teeth before getting crowns etc. so that you can best match them up with your new smile. 
• Tobacco-related stains are harder to remove then food-related stains, so you may need an extra 10-20 minutes to achieve the best results if this is relevant to you.  This is an extra cost so please ask in advance.
• If you are over 65 years of age, you may have age-related staining that is more difficult to remove from your teeth, so you may need an extra 10-20 minutes treatment to achieve the best results.  This is an extra cost so please ask in advance.
• Do you have any white spots on your teeth?  If so, these are just fluoride stains.  These may appear more visible after treatment, but will fade within 3-5 days to better match the surrounding enamel and the fluoride stains will be less noticeable.
• Do you have inflamed or bleeding gums?  If so, this may be gingivitis and the whitening treatment is not suitable for you at this time.  You should visit your dentist at your earliest convenience to get this checked out.
• If you see deeper, darker coloured grooves in the tooth enamel, then you may require an extra 10-20 minutes treatment to achieve the best results for you.  This is an extra cost so please ask in advance.

Post-Procedure Maintenance:

Now that you have completed the BEYOND™ WhiteSpa Select whitening process, it is important that you follow certain precautions to maintain your sparkling BEYOND™ smile.

For 24 hours after the BEYOND™ WhiteSpa Select treatment:

• Do not eat or drink dark, staining substances such as: coffee, tea, red wine, soy sauce, and cola.
• Do not smoke cigarettes or use any tobacco-containing products.
• Do not use coloured toothpaste.

To maintain your BEYOND™ smile over the long term:

Touch-up treatments are suggested every one to two months. Ask your aesthetician about single-cycle touch-ups and schedule your next visit.

• Brush your teeth regularly with BEYOND™ Pearl White whitening toothpaste.
• Visit your dentist regularly.
• Minimize consumption of coffee, tea, and other staining foods and drinks. Also, minimize cigarette smoking.
